A few decades after Charles Darwin published his book about the evolution of species, physicist Ludwig Boltzmann ventured to apply Darwin's concept of evolution to all natural systems. The course of a river, the shaping of a twister, the atmospheric activity, and even our planet itself are all systems that need to undergo self-organization in order to persist, in the same way that life adjusts through time. Time which gives evolution its creative role.
